RightScale Ambassador Program FAQs
Q: Will I automatically become a RightScale Ambassador once I submit my information?
A: No, acceptance into the program is not automatic. We look for people who will be committed to the program for the long term, so we carefully review all applications for the right fit.
Q: What are the acceptance criteria for the RightScale Ambassador Program?
A: At the minimum, you must be an active RightScale user of either our Free Edition or any of our paid editions and have an active online presence where you frequently share your opinions about cloud computing.
Q: How long will it be before I find out if I have been accepted into the program?
A: Because the volume of applications varies, it may take up to several weeks before we contact you. But generally we try to let you know within several business days.
Q: Will I have to sign a contract to participate?
A: No contract is required, but we do ask our Ambassadors to sign a pledge that you won’t knowingly misrepresent information we share with you, that you won’t use obscenities when discussing RightScale, that you will respect other Ambassadors’ opinions — that sort of thing.
Q: Can I criticize RightScale?
A: You are free to express your opinions and we encourage you to do so, but we prefer that you provide constructive criticism. That is, offer a solution or course of action you’d like us to take to improve.
Q: Will you tell me what I can write about?
A: We will not dictate what you should write about, but we will provide you with details on such topics as upcoming feature releases and industry events that we encourage you to promote. But at the end of the day, it’s most important to us that you share your personal experience with RightScale in your own words with others in your community.
Q: Are there any guidelines for participating in the program?
A: Yes, we will provide Ambassadors with written guidelines to help make your participation easy and, we hope, enjoyable.
Q: Will I be compensated?
A: No, we do not monetarily compensate our Ambassadors because we want unbiased opinions, which will ultimately help us build a better product and deliver better support. However, we do reward our Ambassadors in other ways, including invitations to exclusive Ambassador-only events, the opportunity to meet our management team, and a complimentary pass to the RightScale User Conference, among other benefits.
Q: Will I be featured on the RightScale website?
A: Yes, we will feature your bio along with links to your blog/website and social media accounts on our site so that other RightScale users and prospective users can choose to follow you.
