Description

This macro will completely set you up to use DB2 Express-C from scratch. The end result of this macro is to give you a deployment named, "IBM DB2 Express-C Deployment" followed by a timestamp.

This macro accomplishes the following:

  • Clones the official IBM DB2 Express-C Server Template to your private folder
  • Creates a new deployment for you in your selected region (all AWS regions available)
  • Creates a security group which will open up the basic ports to allow SSH and TCP/IP access to DB2
  • Creates a new ssh key
  • Creates a DB2 Express-C server and puts said server in the deployment you created
  • (Optional) Creates both the Config (3GB) and Data (10GB) EBS Volumes for you
  • (Optional) Sets both EBS volumes to attach to the Server on boot
  • (Optional) Sets up Remote Desktop (VNC) on the server
