This script provides the collectd plugin for monitoring file statistics and allows you to monitor the age and size of lockfile in /var/run. It's used to monitor backup status on databases and other critical processes. The name of the file(s) to monitor can be passed in via the OPT_MON_FILES input.
Installs a plugin for collectd, which allows the user to monitor the size (in bytes) and age (in seconds) of files located in /var/run. This is useful for monitoring lock files. The files will appear in the monitoring tab as "file-<filename>". These values can be used to set alerts.
The files monitored with this plugin must be readable by the "nobody" account.
Example: mylockfile myotherlockfile
