Description

vsftpd - Probably the most secure and fastest FTP server for UNIX-like systems.

Despite being small for purposes of speed and security, many more complicated FTP setups are achievable with vsftpd! By no means an exclusive list, vsftpd will handle:

  • Virtual IP configurations
  • Virtual users
  • Standalone or inetd operation
  • Powerful per-user configurability
  • Bandwidth throttling
  • Per-source-IP configurability
  • Per-source-IP limits
  • IPv6
  • Encryption support through SSL integration

MCIs included: Ubuntu 12.04/10.04. For other platforms to be supported, contribution is required with the upstream cookbook, https://github.com/cwjohnston/chef-vsftpd.

This is a RightScale OSS ServerTemplate supported by the community only and is an alpha release not recommended for production systems.
