RightScale Launches One Million Servers in the Cloud

Winners of the "1 Million+ Servers Launched" Contest to be Announced at RightScale User Meetup Next Month

CLOUD CONNECT, SANTA CLARA, Calif. – March 17, 2010RightScale®, Inc., the leader in cloud computing management, today announced that it has launched over one million servers on the cloud through The RightScale Cloud Management Platform. "Pure-play" cloud computing vendor RightScale has been helping companies launch and automatically manage servers on the cloud for over three years. RightScale customers today include companies of all sizes across a wide range of industries – from Zynga, the world’s largest social gaming company, to entertainment conglomerate Sony Music.

"One million servers have now been launched, managed and automated by the RightScale Cloud Management Platform, and this momentum is only increasing," said Michael Crandell, RightScale CEO. "One million is a big number and testifies to the enormous traction that cloud computing – and automated cloud management – has achieved. It also presents more undeniable evidence that it’s no longer a question of whether or not cloud computing will become a major force for change in IT – it’s only a question of how fast."

RightScale is bringing together its rapidly growing user community at the second RightScale User Meetup on April 21, 2010, in New York. At this event, RightScale will celebrate the rising number of RightScale and cloud computing users by announcing the winners of its "1 Million+ Servers Launched" contest, in which participants guess how many servers the company will have launched in the cloud by the date of the User Meetup.

Held alongside Cloud Computing Expo, the RightScale User Meetup will feature a breadth of real-world customer case studies, a preview of new technologies to be delivered in 2010, and an opportunity to share and learn with the RightScale management team and users from all over the world. To register for the RightScale User Meetup, please go to http://www.rightscale.com/meetup.

Starting now, anyone may enter RightScale’s "1 Million+ Servers Launched" contest and guess how many servers RightScale will have launched in the cloud by the time of the User Meetup. The three contestants whose answers are the closest to the actual number will each receive an Apple iPad.
