API & Integrations

RightScale provides a unified API across clouds that integrates data on events, configurations, user actions, costs, monitors, and logs. Now you can extend multi-cloud services to your organization and gain the ability to tie together operational data by hooking into and integrating cloud data for systems monitoring, application monitoring, logging, and SIEM tools.

RightScale also enables you to offer single sign-on (SSO) across public and private clouds through integration with Active Directory using SAML or OpenID. And it directly integrates with and provides extensible support for popular configuration management technologies.

Integrate Cloud Management with Chef, Puppet, Bash, and Powershell

Use Chef — natively hosted in RightScale Cloud Management using Chef Solo — with built in version control, inputs, and ServerTemplate integration. Most community Chef Cookbooks work off the shelf; just point to your Git or SVN repository. Leverage RightScale-published Cookbooks for tested and supported configuration building blocks.

RightScale also supports Open Source Chef, Enterprise Chef, Puppet Open Source, Puppet Enterprise, Ansible, and Salt using bootstrapped ServerTemplates. RightScale publishes client ServerTemplates for Chef and Puppet.

For environments or actions that require scripting, RightScale offers RightScripts. RightScripts support Bash, Powershell, or any other executable and enable script-based provisioning and easy operational tasks.

Development Tool Chain

Link Your Build, Test, and Release Tools to Deployment and Operations

Getting the most out of cloud management requires a close integration with your development processes. RightScale integrates with your version control systems, including Git and SVN, to automate configuration and deployment. Tie together cloud provisioning with your continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Vagrant, TravisCI, IBM Urbancode, Atlassian Bamboo, Thoughtworks Go, MaestroDev, and CruiseControl.

For Windows environments, integrate cloud into your software development lifecycle tooling such as Team Foundation Server continuous integration and Visual Studio development environments.

Identity Management

Enable Single Sign-On to Your Hybrid Cloud

Federate with your on-premises Active Directory for your developers and operations teams across public and private clouds. Offer single sign-on (SSO) to authenticate to your self-service portal, Cloud Management, and Optima systems. Use OpenID or SAML to configure authentication means, including multi-factor authentication, via identify providers such as Okta, OneLogin, Ping Identity, and Verisign. Create users, change permissions, and revoke access with the RightScale API.
